Introduction

The BPS series are automotive-grade pressure sensors designed to detect and report thermal runaway events in lithium-ion battery packs. They combine MEMS and ASIC technologies to detect pressure changes in EV and energy storage system (ESS) battery packs. Detected values are transmitted to the battery management system (BMS) via CAN communication. The BPS series measures pressure from 50 kPa to 300 kPa. It features adjustable warning thresholds for pressure and rate of pressure change, enabling early detection of thermal runaway events in lithium-ion battery packs, with excellent performance and reliability. The BPS series is automotive-certified, incorporating AEC-Q100-qualified ICs to meet higher quality and reliability requirements, and is RoHS compliant.
