Introduction

The HCA and HCA-RA series fully hermetic LVDTs deliver outstanding performance in harsh industrial environments. Their all-welded stainless steel construction withstands external pressures up to 1000 PSI (70 bar), impervious to dust, water, steam, and corrosive liquids/vapors compatible with their materials. Dual magnetic shielding provides effective protection against external electromagnetic fields. The series offers multiple standard configuration options, including a high-temperature (200°C) model HCA-T, and is compatible with the full line of Measurement Specialties LVDT signal conditioners. The HCA-RA version features radial connector termination to minimize installation footprint while allowing debris to pass harmlessly through the "open" bore. Windings are vacuum-impregnated with a specially formulated high-temperature flexible resin, and the coil assembly is potted in the housing with two-component epoxy, providing robust resistance to high vibration and shock environments. An optional captive core design is also available for simplified installation.
