Introduction

The Telaire HS20 is a bulk resistive relative humidity (RH) sensor that provides a variable impedance value based on moisture absorbed by the sensor's proprietary thin-film polymer. This polymer is applied to interdigitated electrodes; its chemical functional groups dissociate into ionic groups in the presence of water, thereby increasing the sensor's conductivity. The sensor is excited by a low-voltage AC signal, and the resulting impedance is measured through auxiliary circuitry.
