This small sensor looks a lot like the popular DHT11/DHT22 temperature and humidity sensors, but unlike the classic DHT sensors, it features an I2C interface! That's right — no need to use a specific bit-timing protocol to communicate with the AM2320; it uses a standard I2C interface. That makes things a lot simpler, doesn't it? However, this sensor doesn't have the same level of documentation as our other more advanced I2C temperature and humidity sensors. The datasheet claims 3% humidity accuracy and 0.5°C temperature accuracy, but we're not very confident in those specs. So while this sensor appears to work, it's not recommended for any application where guaranteed accuracy is required. Temperature may be accurate to within 2–3°C, and humidity within 5–10%. That said, for maker and IoT projects, its simplicity and price point are hard to beat! And we have ready-to-use Arduino and CircuitPython code to get you started. Each order includes one AM2320, a low-cost temperature and humidity sensor. All you need to provide is a microcontroller capable of running our Arduino or CircuitPython libraries, along with two I2C pull-up resistors (not included).
