Introduction

The Si7020 I²C Humidity and Temperature Sensor is a monolithic CMOS IC that integrates humidity and temperature sensing elements, an ADC, signal processing, calibration data, and an I²C interface. The sensor uses an industry-standard low-K polymer dielectric for humidity sensing — a patented technology that enables the construction of a low-power, low-drift, and low-hysteresis monolithic CMOS sensor IC with excellent long-term stability.

The humidity and temperature sensors are factory-calibrated, with calibration data stored in on-chip non-volatile memory. This ensures the sensors are fully interchangeable with no need for recalibration or software changes.

The Si7020 is housed in a 3×3mm DFN package and is reflow solderable. It serves as a hardware- and software-compatible drop-in upgrade for existing relative humidity/temperature sensors in 3×3mm DFN-6 packages, offering a wider measurement range and lower power consumption. An optional factory-installed cover provides a low-profile, convenient means of protecting the sensor during assembly processes (such as reflow soldering) and throughout the product's lifetime, guarding against liquid ingress (hydrophobic/oleophobic) and particulate contamination.

The Si7020 delivers an accurate, low-power, factory-calibrated digital solution ideally suited for measuring humidity, dew point, and temperature across a wide range of applications — from HVAC/R and asset tracking to industrial and consumer platforms.
