Introduction

The adjustable current switch is designed for any AC current monitoring application, enabling detection of equipment faults, preventive maintenance, equipment status monitoring, and electrical load condition awareness. The current switch should be installed on the line side of the power supply to the electrical equipment. This current switch is available in both solid-core and split-core versions, and features a patented 35mm DIN rail mounting foot for easy installation in panel-mount applications. The solid-core version is suited for new installations or OEM applications where cost sensitivity, lower trip points, and environmental considerations are priorities. The split-core version is ideal for retrofit applications and service technician vehicles, as a single unit covers most applications and can be easily installed without disconnecting any wires. The adjustable current switch can be used to determine equipment run time, as well as for basic load trend applications such as logging contact closures on building management systems or PLCs to track equipment operating duration.
