Introduction

ACI fixed "status" current switches are designed for any AC current monitoring application, providing "pass/fail" or on/off status for specific equipment. Current switches should be installed on the line side of motors, pumps, compressors, or other equipment. Current switches are available in both solid-core and split-core versions, and include a patented 35mm DIN rail mounting foot for easy installation in panel-mount applications. The solid-core version is ideal for new installations or OEM applications where cost sensitivity, lower trip points, and environmental concerns may be a consideration. Split-core current switches are suited for retrofit applications and service vehicles, as a single unit can be used for most applications and can be installed without disconnecting any wires. Fixed current status switches can also be used to determine equipment runtime and basic load trending applications by logging contact closures on a building management system or PLC to track equipment operating time and duration.
