Introduction

Fully integrated Hall-effect-based isolated linear current sensor IC for AC or DC current sensing in industrial, commercial, and communication systems. Each IC consists of a precision, low-offset linear Hall circuit with a low insertion resistance current conductor path integrated on-chip. The applied current flowing through the low-resistance current conductor path generates a magnetic field, which the IC converts into a voltage output proportional to the input current. To effectively suppress external common-mode magnetic fields, a differential current sensing technique is employed, improving accuracy in magnetically noisy environments. Accuracy is enhanced by optimizing the magnetic signal-to-noise ratio.
