Introduction

The MT9523 product family is a fully integrated Hall-effect-based isolated linear current sensor IC designed for AC or DC current sensing in industrial, commercial, and communication systems. Each device consists of a precision, low-offset linear Hall circuit with a built-in low-insertion-resistance current conductor path. The applied current flowing through this low-resistance current conductor path generates a magnetic field, which the device converts into a voltage signal output proportional to the input current. To effectively suppress external common-mode magnetic fields, a differential current sensing technique is employed, improving accuracy in magnetically noisy environments. Device accuracy is further enhanced by optimizing the magnetic signal-to-noise ratio. A low-offset, chopper-stabilized Hall IC fabricated in CMOS technology provides a precise proportional voltage that is accurately calibrated during manufacturing. When the applied current flows through the internal current conduction path, the device output has a positive slope. The internal resistance of this conduction path is typically 1.0 mΩ, enabling low power dissipation. The terminals of the conduction path are galvanically isolated from the signal lines, allowing this current sensor IC to be used in high-side current sensing applications without the need for other costly isolation techniques. The series is available in an RoHS-compliant SOP-8 package.
