Introduction

CT4022/32 is a highly linear, XtremeSense TMR-based current sensor. The tunnel magnetoresistance (TMR) sensor is a differential sensor capable of rejecting common-mode magnetic fields, eliminating the effects of stray magnetic fields. The primary conductor resistance of only 1 mΩ enables the sensor to withstand high surge currents while minimizing power loss. Current applied to the primary conductor pins generates an internal differential magnetic field. The TMR sensor rejects common-mode stray magnetic fields while providing a voltage proportional to the differential magnetic field. The pins of the primary conductive path are galvanically isolated from the sensor leads. This enables high-side current sensing without additional isolation techniques. The CT4022/32 is available in an industry-standard 8-pin SOIC package (CT4022) and a 16-pin wide-body SOIC (SOICW) package (CT4032). Both packages are environmentally friendly and RoHS compliant. The small and low-profile package is ideal for space-constrained applications.
