Introduction

The DRV421 is designed for closed-loop magnetic current sensing solutions, enabling precise isolated DC and AC current measurements. This device provides a proprietary integrated fluxgate sensor and the required analog signal conditioning functions, thereby minimizing the number of components and costs. The fluxgate sensor features low offset and drift. Coupled with an optimized front-end circuit, it offers unparalleled measurement accuracy. The DRV421 provides all the circuit modules required to drive the current sensing feedback loop. The sensor front-end circuit is followed by a filter, which is configured to work with various magnetic cores. The device drives the compensation coil through an integrated 250mA H-bridge, doubling the current measurement range compared to traditional single-ended driving methods. The device also provides a precision reference voltage and a shunt sensing amplifier to generate and drive the analog output signal.
