Introduction

The TLE4973 is a high-accuracy miniature coreless current sensor for DC and AC measurements, featuring an analog interface and fast overcurrent detection output. It avoids the adverse effects inherent to open-loop sensors using flux concentration technology (e.g., saturation, hysteresis). The differential measurement principle provides excellent stray magnetic field rejection in harsh environments. High configurability enables adaptation to a wide range of applications. User-programmable parameters (such as overcurrent detection thresholds and sensitivity settings) are stored in an embedded EEPROM. Device configuration can be performed in the field via a single-wire UART-based digital control and diagnostic interface. This interface provides read/write access to the device's internal registers, allows triggering of diagnostic modes, and enables readout of temperature, overcurrent detection, and safety status information. It features automatic address assignment, supporting up to 8 slave devices on a single bus.
