Introduction

PTX100R is a highly integrated NFC reader IC for contactless communication, featuring enhanced key performance parameters such as output power (transmitter current up to 650mA) and receive sensitivity (-80dBc). While eliminating EMC filters and matching components, PTX100R achieves simple integration and a compact design, avoiding the complexity of existing solutions (dual-resonance circuits consisting of EMC filters and antennas). Thanks to its modular soft-controller architecture, NFC functionality is integrated into a split protocol stack solution, where time-critical operations run on an on-chip hardware accelerator while the remaining NFC logic executes on the host controller, enabling applications such as point-of-sale systems and IoT readers.
