Introduction

The BGS5 is a quad-band 2G GPRS Class 12 module supporting free FOTA configuration, USB 2.0 high-speed interface compatibility, and an integrated TCP/IP stack. It offers advanced processing capabilities and an embedded Java Virtual Machine, enabling application offloading and even elimination of the microprocessor, significantly reducing device complexity and BOM costs. Measuring only 27.6mm × 18.8mm × 2.7mm, it is the smallest module offering advanced application processing capabilities, with M2M-grade extended temperature range support. The module is suitable for applications including tracking and tracing, automatic meter reading (AMR), remote maintenance and control, and aftermarket telematics.
