Introduction

This product specification describes the Panasonic Class 1.5 HCI Bluetooth B¹ module based on Texas Instruments, with series number 13xx. The non-antenna version is referred to as PAN131x in this document, and the version with antenna is referred to as PAN132x. The PAN13x5B and PAN13x6B series are based on Texas Instruments' new CC2560B and CC2564B controllers, respectively. The new PAN13x5B/13x6B series modules support HFP1.6 (WBS) profile or A2DP profile in auxiliary mode. The PAN13x6B also supports 10 Bluetooth Low Energy connections (previously 6). PAN1315(A/B) and PAN1316(B) are 100% pin-compatible, and PAN1325(A/B) and PAN1326(B) are 100% pin-compatible. Modules based on CC2560B and CC2564B require an updated initialization script residing on the application microcontroller; compatibility between the base version, version A, and version B depends on the Bluetooth stack. Bluetooth stack solutions provided by software development partners are available for most processors, including Linux-based host systems.
