Introduction

The GAMMA62T telemetry module is a transmitter/receiver/transceiver based on an industrial-grade bidirectional long-range module. Two or more modules can be combined to form simple or complex radio telemetry networks. The module can also be used with any RF Solutions handheld transmitter operating in the same frequency band to build embedded remote control systems. The GAMMA62T is easy to use, featuring direct voltage-free switch inputs and direct switch outputs. It employs the latest OFDM spread-spectrum technology combined with extensive algorithmic enhancements to achieve an industry-leading transmission range of over 20 km. The module is available in two supply voltage versions — 1.8–3.6V and 3.6–15V — as well as SIL and SMT form factors. When configured as a transmitter, the module defaults to a low-power sleep mode; any input change will wake the module and initiate an RF transmission, and the input must remain active for 2 ms to be recognized as valid. The maximum switching frequency depends on the LORA mode in which the module is operating. Digital inputs are high-impedance, LVCMOS/LVTTL-compatible, and 5V-tolerant. When configured as a receiver, the module remains in listen mode; upon receiving a valid RF transmission, it flashes the onboard LED, performs the corresponding output change, and sends back an RF acknowledgment when required. Digital outputs are active-high and LVCMOS/LVTTL-compatible. When configured as a transceiver, the module assigns I/O lines as outputs and inputs; any input change will wake the module and initiate an RF transmission. In parallel-to-serial mode, activating an input sends an RF signal, and a module configured as a receiver will output data via its serial transmit pin; if the module is paired, it will also output a serial data string indicating output status upon receiving an RF command to update the digital outputs. The module can be configured via the onboard switch, including options to erase all pairings and restore factory default settings.
