Introduction
The BMD-380 is a small, advanced, highly flexible, ultra-low-power multiprotocol system-in-module that provides Bluetooth 5 Low Energy and IEEE 802.15.4 connectivity for portable, extremely low-power embedded systems. The module integrates an Arm Cortex-M4 floating-point processor, 2.4 GHz transceiver, and antenna to deliver a complete RF solution, helping reduce time-to-market and development costs. The BMD-380 fully leverages the features and peripherals of the Nordic Semiconductor nRF52840 to meet the most demanding application requirements while simplifying design and reducing BOM costs. The module is an ideal choice for applications requiring Bluetooth 5 capabilities or 802.15.4-based Thread and Zigbee networking. An integrated USB and 5.5 V-compatible DC/DC supply further enhance integration, reduce design complexity and BOM costs, and expand the range of potential applications.
