Introduction

RG-02 is an indoor LoRaWAN gateway. It supports the Semtech packet forwarder and LoRaWAN base station functionality, and is compatible with the standard LoRaWAN protocol. The low-frequency version of the RG-02 gateway (470 - 510MHz) adopts a combined design of SX1301 LoRa RF baseband chip + 2 x SX1257 RF front-end, supporting 10 programmable parallel demodulation paths. The gateway supports WiFi, Ethernet, and 3G/4G cellular network connectivity, enabling convenient deployment across various application sites. The RG-02 comes pre-configured with multiple standard LoRaWAN frequency band options to accommodate different countries and regions. It also supports user-defined frequency bands for building private LoRa networks. The RG-02 can communicate with ABP LoRaWAN end nodes without a LoRaWAN server, with the gateway itself handling data parsing and forwarding. This lightweight deployment approach makes it straightforward for system integrators to connect directly to existing IoT applications without the need to set up a LoRaWAN server or rely on third-party LoRaWAN services.
