Introduction

The RG-02 is an indoor LoRaWAN gateway supporting the Semtech packet forwarder and LoRaWAN base station functionality, compatible with standard LoRaWAN protocols. The high-frequency RG-02 gateway (863–870MHz) adopts a combined design of SX1302 LoRa RF baseband chip + 2x SX1250 RF front-end, supporting 10 programmable parallel demodulator paths. The gateway supports Wi-Fi, Ethernet, and 3G/4G cellular network connectivity for easy deployment across various application environments. The RG-02 comes pre-configured with multiple standard LoRaWAN frequency band options to accommodate different countries and regions, and also supports user-defined frequency bands for building private LoRa networks. It can communicate with ABP LoRaWAN end nodes without a LoRaWAN server, with data parsing and forwarding handled by the gateway itself. This lightweight deployment approach enables system integrators to connect directly to existing IoT applications without building a LoRaWAN server or relying on third-party LoRaWAN services.
