Introduction

The CC2640R2F device is a wireless microcontroller (MCU) mainly suitable for Bluetooth 4.2 and Bluetooth 5 low-power applications. This device belongs to the cost-effective ultra-low-power 2.4GHz RF devices. It features extremely low active RF and MCU currents as well as low quiescent current in power-saving modes, ensuring excellent battery life. It is suitable for being powered by small coin-cell batteries and used in energy harvesting applications.

The CC2640R2F contains a 32-bit ARM Cortex - M3 core (with the same operating frequency of 48MHz as the main processor) and has a rich set of peripheral functions, including a unique ultra-low-power sensor controller. This sensor controller is well-suited for connecting external sensors and independently collecting analog and digital data when the rest of the system is in sleep mode. Therefore, the CC2640R2F device is an ideal choice for various applications that prioritize battery life, small size, and ease of use.

The Bluetooth low-power controller and host library are embedded in the ROM and run independently on the ARM Cortex - M0 processor. This architecture improves overall system performance and power consumption and frees up a large amount of flash memory for applications.
