Introduction
The IWR1843AOP device is an integrated single-chip millimeter-wave sensor capable of operating in the 76 GHz to 81 GHz frequency band and based on FMCW radar technology, with continuous linear frequency modulation pulses of up to 4 GHz. This device is manufactured using a low-power 45 nm RFCMOS process, enabling excellent integration in an ultra-small package. The IWR1843AOP is an ideal solution for low-power, self-monitoring, and ultra-precise radar systems in industrial applications such as building automation, factory automation, drones, material handling, traffic monitoring, and surveillance.
The IWR1843AOP device is a self-contained single-chip solution that simplifies the implementation of millimeter-wave sensors in the 76 GHz to 81 GHz frequency band. The IWR1843AOP includes a monolithic implementation of a 3TX, 4RX system with a built-in PLL and ADC converter. The IWR1843AOP also integrates a DSP subsystem, which includes a high-performance C674x DSP for radar signal processing. This device contains a processor subsystem based on ARM R4F, which is responsible for front-end configuration, control, and calibration. Simple programming model changes can support various sensor implementations and enable dynamic reconfiguration to achieve multi-mode sensors. The Hardware Accelerator Block (HWA) can perform radar processing and helps save MIPS on the DSP with more advanced algorithms. In addition, this device is provided as a complete platform solution, which includes reference designs, software drivers, example configurations, API guides, training, and user documentation.
