JSM903R is a low-power, high-performance, plug-and-play OOK RF receiver. The chip operates over a wide input voltage range of 2.5V - 5.5V, with sensitivity up to -109dBm, operating frequency range of 300 - 480MHz, and supports data rates of 1 - 5Kbps. It adopts a SOP-8 package and requires only an antenna-side impedance matching network, VDD decoupling capacitor, and AGC filter capacitor in application — no overshoot-suppression resistor is needed in the VDD circuit, reducing application cost. JSM903R consists of an LNA, mixer, image-rejection bandpass filter, IF amplifier, peak detector, low-pass filter, AGC, crystal oscillator circuit, PLL circuit, voltage reference and bias circuit, and logic control circuit, forming a fully integrated receiver with mixed-signal design. The RF input signal enters the LNA via the antenna and matching network; the LNA feeds its output signal together with the local oscillator signal into the mixer for down-conversion mixing; the image-rejection bandpass filter performs filtering to suppress mixing images; and the IF amplifier performs multi-stage amplification to complete the down-conversion from RF to IF. JSM903R employs a negative-resistance crystal oscillator circuit with the external load capacitors integrated on-chip — only an appropriate external crystal is required to provide an accurate reference clock. For any frequency within the license-free 300 - 480MHz band, the relationship between the actual operating frequency and the crystal frequency is: F_XTAL = (13.52127 / 433.92) × F_RF. The AGC circuit monitors the envelope signal amplitude at the low-pass filter output and adjusts the gains of the LNA and IF op-amp to achieve stable system gain linearity and high-performance sensitivity. The CAGC pin is the AGC port of the receive chain; an external filter capacitor is connected to this pin, and the capacitance value affects the chip startup time proportionally.
