Introduction

This device is an array of 128 analog switches capable of handling signals from DC to video frequency range. Due to the switch architecture, the input signal swing can span the entire supply voltage range, from VDD to VEE. Each switch is addressable via an address input signal connected to a 7-to-128 line decoder. The state of the addressed switch is determined by the signal at the data input. When the strobe input transitions from its normally low state to a high level, a low or zero input will open the switch, while a logic high or "1" will close the addressed switch. Any number or combination of connections may be activated simultaneously. However, each connection must be individually established or broken in the manner described above. All switches can be reset by transitioning the reset input from the zero state to the "1" state and then returning it to its normally low state. The chip select signal allows crosspoint arrays to be cascaded to expand the matrix size.
