Introduction

The SL871L is the new evolution of the SL871 family module based on the low-power MediaTek MT3333. The new SL871L shares the same pin layout and command interface as the standard SL871, but adds an extra LNA, a DC blocker in the RF front end, and a second communication port selectable between I2C and UART. The new SL871L also includes a switching power supply to reduce total power consumption, thereby extending battery life.

Like the SL871, the SL871L is designed to support GPS, QZSS, GLONASS, BeiDou, and Galileo. The SL871L can simultaneously track three different constellations (GPS + Galileo + GLONASS or GPS + Galileo + BeiDou).

The SL871L comes in a 9.7 x 10.1 mm package and provides navigation position data via standard UART. The SL871L can replace the Telit SL871 by following a few simple application rules.

The SL871L supports Assisted GPS (A-GPS), operating in both autonomous mode and server-based mode. SBAS is also implemented to improve positioning accuracy.

The SL871L delivers ultra-low power consumption and enhanced performance under all operating conditions.
