Introduction

RTC6705 is a wideband FM transmitter IC designed for 5.8GHz band FM transmission applications. The chip integrates a 5.8GHz band RF modulator, dual audio modulators, and an internal power amplifier, capable of delivering +13dBm output power when connected to an external matching network. The 5.8GHz band RF modulator module, based on a frequency synthesizer with an integrated VCO, generates a 5.8GHz band signal frequency-modulated by a video signal and two audio subcarriers at 6MHz and 6.5MHz respectively. The chip supports both stereo and mono applications. The transmit frequency can be set either via SPI programming of internal registers or by selecting six dedicated pins. Output power can be configured to two levels, +2dBm or +13dBm, via pins 34 and 35. Combined with the application circuit and a single-cavity shielded enclosure, the device can readily meet CE and FCC regulatory requirements.
