Introduction

The AD8284 is a low cost, small form factor, flexible, and easy-to-use integrated analog front end. It integrates a 4-channel differential mux, a single-channel low noise amplifier (LNA) with a PGA and AAF, plus a direct-connect ADC channel, all feeding into a single-channel 12-bit ADC. The AD8284 also includes a saturation detection circuit for high-frequency overvoltage conditions that would otherwise be filtered out by the AAF.

The analog channel offers a gain range of 17 dB to 35 dB in 6 dB steps, with ADC conversion rates up to 60 MSPS. At maximum gain, the input-referred voltage noise across all channels is 3.5 nV/√Hz. The channels are optimized for dynamic performance and low power consumption, making them suitable for applications requiring a small package footprint.

The AD8284 is fabricated using an advanced CMOS process and is available in a 10 mm × 10 mm, RoHS-compliant, 64-lead TQFP package. It is rated for the −40°C to +105°C automotive temperature range.
