Introduction

The TDA7479 recovers the additional inaudible RDS information transmitted by FM radio broadcast stations and operates in accordance with EBU (European Broadcasting Union) specifications.

The device consists of two sections: a cascaded anti-aliasing and switched-capacitor 8th-order bandpass filter for precise RDS band selection, and a demodulation section for extracting the RDS data stream (RDDA) and clock (RDCL) for further processing by a suitable RDS decoder.

Outputs for RDS signal quality and ARI indication are also provided.
