Introduction

STMicroelectronics' STW81103 is an RF frequency synthesizer with integrated VCO. The device features high performance, high integration, low power consumption, and multi-band operation capability, making it a low-cost single-chip alternative to discrete PLL and VCO solutions. The STW81103 incorporates an integer-N frequency synthesizer and two fully integrated VCOs, delivering low phase noise performance with a noise floor of -155 dBc/Hz. The wide frequency range VCOs — achieved through center frequency calibration across 32 sub-bands — combined with multiple output options (direct output, divide-by-2, or divide-by-4) enable coverage of the 625 MHz~762.5 MHz, 1087.5 MHz~1525 MHz, 2175 MHz~3050 MHz, and 4350 MHz~5000 MHz bands. The STW81103 is manufactured using STMicroelectronics' advanced 0.35 µm SiGe process.
