Introduction

THCS253 is a single-chip transceiver IC integrating a serializer and deserializer, capable of aggregating 32-bit GPIO and 2-wire serial interface signals and converting them into two pairs of differential signals for transmission and reception. The device supports two operating modes: synchronous mode and asynchronous mode. In synchronous mode, the uplink and downlink high-speed transmission signals operate synchronously, driven by a reference clock signal from the master chip side. In asynchronous mode, the uplink and downlink high-speed transmission signals operate asynchronously, driven independently by the clocks on the master chip and slave chip sides. The reference clock can be selected from either an internal OSC clock or an external input clock. Internal registers are accessible via the 2-wire serial interface, allowing per-pin customization of the direction and output buffer type for each of the 32-bit GPIOs. The 8B10B encoding and decoding technology employed by the THCS253 provides highly robust, DC-balanced signals, facilitating connection to optical or wireless communication devices. The built-in adaptive equalizer enables flexible cable selection, while the CML driver with pre-emphasis supports longer cable transmission distances.
