Introduction

This device is a low-cost, high-dynamic-range logarithmic detector featuring a new design optimized for power consumption, ESD protection, and performance across temperature extremes, with best-in-class specifications. It provides two outputs: the first, VUP, rises from near ground to approximately 1.3V; the second, VDN, is the inverse of VUP, with the relationship VDN = 2.25V - 2×VUP. Internally, the device employs a successive-approximation compression technique to accurately convert RF input signals into corresponding log-linear outputs, with a typical dynamic range of 45dB, log error of less than ±1dB, and support for multiple operating modes including measurement mode and control mode. The device is primarily intended for applications such as received signal strength indication, wideband spectrum monitoring, and automatic gain control.
