Introduction

The Digi TX54 5G is a rugged and secure cellular router designed for mission-critical industrial and transportation applications, including 5G and first responder models for public safety networks. Its versatility makes it ideal for mission-critical applications requiring continuous connectivity, extended field life, and edge computing. It delivers secure routing and gateway functionality over wired and wireless communication networks, bridging local private subnets over public networks to protect privacy and integrity. The Digi TX54 is available in dual Wi-Fi radio models that separate passenger Wi-Fi from ticketing, data, video, and other applications, as well as single LTE-Advanced, dual LTE-Advanced, LTE-Advanced Pro, and 5G models. It also offers FirstNet Trusted™ and Verizon Frontline-supported models to meet the critical needs of first responders and emergency communications, and complies with the FIPS 140-2 cybersecurity standard. It features concurrent and independent dual cellular interfaces for prioritizing critical communications, with an industrial-grade design that withstands the harshest conditions, including vibration and temperature extremes. Support for Digi containers and Python enables flexible edge computing and intelligence. Four Gigabit Ethernet ports connect additional IP-enabled systems, each configurable as an isolated secure LAN, or all four ports can operate as a Layer 2 switch. Digi TrustFence® is a suite of hardware and firmware features that ensures the integrity of Digi TX54 security functions, with chip-level encryption protecting the on-board file system. Digi Remote Manager® allows users to centrally configure and manage networks and connected devices. Digi WAN Bonding and Digi Mobile VPN value-added services deliver continuous, secure connectivity for critical communications through 5G/LTE WAN aggregation, instant failover, and highly resilient application and session persistence with mobile encryption.
