Introduction

This is a 2.4GHz band dielectric ceramic PIFA surface mount antenna for Bluetooth, WLAN, and ZigBee applications. It features a ceramic dielectric PIFA design that offers a smaller PCB footprint, superior gain characteristics, and better isolation compared to conventional PCB antennas. The antenna is designed for placement at the upper-left edge of the component side of the PCB, must be mounted in a area free of ground copper pour, and its feed point is directly matched to the module. In actual devices, the antenna's peak gain will be reduced by the ground plane, surrounding components, and device enclosure; therefore, selecting a free-space peak gain antenna slightly above the module's specified requirements helps achieve better post-integration performance while ensuring compliance with regulatory limits.
