Introduction

The MAX3523 is a programmable gain amplifier (PGA) designed to meet DOCSIS 3.1 upstream transmission requirements. This PGA meets DOCSIS 3.1 spurious limits when delivering a combined output power of 68dBmV across an RF bandwidth of 5MHz to 204MHz. Gain is controlled over a 60dB range in 1dB steps via a 3-wire SPI interface. Maxim's high-voltage CMOS process enables the device to deliver high dynamic range at a +5V supply voltage while minimizing power consumption.

The MAX3523 is available in a 20-pin 5mm × 5mm × 0.75mm TQFN package and operates over a temperature range of 0°C to +70°C.
