Introduction

HMC-C025 is a DC to 13 GHz, 6-bit GaAs IC digital attenuator housed in a compact hermetic module. This broadband attenuator features a typical insertion loss of 4 dB, input IP3 of +38 dBm, and bit values of 0.5 (LSB), 1, 2, 4, 8, and 16 dB, with a total attenuation of 31.5 dB. Attenuation accuracy is high, with a typical step error of ±0.3 dB. Six control voltage inputs switch between 0 and +5 V to select each attenuation state. A single -5 V Vdc bias enables operation down to DC. The removable SMA connectors can be detached to allow direct connection of the module's 1Ω pins to microstrip or coplanar circuits.
