Introduction

The MICROOPTO series solid-state relays offer a variety of options for signal switching and protection. The series features pluggable cross-connections and industry-standard marking options, all within the standard terminal block width of 6.1 mm. By utilizing optocoupler technology, these devices achieve an extremely long service life without failures or issues such as switching noise and contact bounce. The devices are resistant to shock and vibration, and generate no EMI or switching-related arcing during operation. MICROOPTO solid-state relays are CE and cULus certified.

The special IC in the MICROOPTO 100 kHz optocoupler module ensures that rapidly transmitted signals are isolated from one another and can be passed through with virtually no delay. This enables switching frequencies of up to 100 kHz. Comprehensive suppression circuits protect the module against line transients and voltage spikes.

The MICROOPTO 300VDC solid-state relay was developed as a switching amplifier for inductive loads up to 300VDC and 1A (such as motor brakes and contactors). The power enhancement in the load circuit compensates for transient overloads (20A for 20 ms / 5A for 1 s), such as spikes when switching on or off. Additional protection circuits guard against higher overloads.

The MICROOPTO ACTOR solid-state relay is specifically designed as a switching amplifier for actuators with inductive loads up to 24VDC and 2A (such as solenoid valves and contactors). Three-wire actuators can be connected directly to the module. The module is short-circuit protected and guarded against application-related transients and spikes through comprehensive protection circuits.

The MICROOPTO SOLENOID solid-state relay is specifically designed as a switching amplifier for actuators with inductive loads up to 24VDC and 10A (such as solenoid valves and contactors). Passive signal contacts transmit faults, such as short circuits, to the controller. The MICROOPTO SOLENOID solid-state relay is short-circuit protected and guarded against supply-related transients and voltage spikes through comprehensive protection circuits. The enclosed housing also provides a high degree of contact protection.

Electronic CO contacts are used wherever output signal inversion is required. The input signal is passed directly to the output side and inverted; therefore, the optocoupler module can also be used as a pure inverter. Compared to electromechanical relays, the advantages include wear-free switching and the ability to achieve high switching frequencies.

The MICROOPTO TTL module is used in industrial automation applications to adapt sensitive TTL signals to the typical 24VDC voltage level. To protect the electronics, sensitive TTL signals require electrical isolation from the 24V environment. A separate auxiliary power supply is required to control the optocoupler circuit via 5V TTL signals.
