Introduction

The C212S series is a rugged device well-suited for automatic test equipment, security, and analog multiplexing applications. It is a normally open SPST switch that can replace electromechanical relays in many applications. The device uses a GaAlAs LED for drive control and a monolithic integrated chip as the switch output. The chip is fabricated using high-voltage dielectric isolation technology and incorporates a photodiode array, switch control circuitry, and a MOSFET switch.
