Introduction

Contactors can take many forms, but the most common in safety circuits are force-guided, mechanically interlocked relays. The mechanical interlocking between contacts allows external monitoring circuits to detect certain device faults.

Depending on the application, using contactors makes it convenient to control switching devices at voltages and currents different from the OSSD outputs of the safety device. Contacts can also be used to control additional hazardous conditions by creating multiple safety stop circuits.

Warning: Per OSHA regulations, these contactors are not point-of-operation guards. Point-of-operation guards, such as safety light curtains and/or hard guards, must be installed to protect personnel from hazardous machinery. Failure to install point-of-operation guards on hazardous machinery may result in serious injury or death.

• Compatible with safety devices featuring solid-state or hard contact outputs (e.g., safety light curtains or safety modules/controllers)
• Provides three N.O. safety contacts and one N.C. monitoring contact for any safety system
• Auxiliary contact block offers three or four N.O. contacts depending on model
• Coil voltage: 24V DC or 120V AC depending on model
• Contact current rating: 10A or 18A
• Typically used in pairs for safety functions; N.C. contact used for safety system monitoring (e.g., External Device Monitoring EDM)
• Standard DIN rail or flush mounting
