Introduction
The AFBR-3950xxRZ is a high-voltage isolation link for DC to 50 MBd signals. The device consists of a transmitter and receiver operating at a wavelength of 650 nm. With pin spacing ranging from approximately 25 mm to 101 mm, it provides transient voltage suppression capability ranging from 15 kV to 50 kV. Isolation characteristics include: working isolation voltage of 1.6 kVpeak (1 inch), 3.4 kVpeak (2 inch), 5.1 kVpeak (3 inch), and 6.8 kVpeak (4 inch). Maximum repetitive peak isolation voltage is 1.6 kVpeak (1 inch), 3.4 kVpeak (2 inch), 5.1 kVpeak (3 inch), and 6.8 kVpeak (4 inch). Maximum transient isolation voltage is 8 kVpeak (1 inch), 16 kVpeak (2 inch), 24 kVpeak (3 inch), and 32 kVpeak (4 inch). Input-to-output transient overvoltage is 15 kV (1 inch), 30 kV (2 inch), 45 kV (3 inch), and 50 kV (4 inch). Minimum input-to-output isolation resistance is 10¹² Ω. Typical input-to-output isolation capacitance is 0.6 pF. Partial discharge voltage greater than 1.6 × VIORM (6.8 kV for 1 inch, 13.6 kV for 2 inch, 20.4 kV for 3 inch, 27.2 kV for 4 inch), Vini,a = VIOTM, tini,a = 60 s; tm = 10 s. Partial discharge voltage greater than 1.875 × VIORM (8 kV for 1 inch, 16 kV for 2 inch, 24 kV for 3 inch, 32 kV for 4 inch), Vini,b = VIOTM, tini,b = 1 s; tm = 1 s. Rated for use below an altitude of 2000 m. Pollution Degree 2; note that non-uniform electric field conditions may cause partial discharge through air at these voltages. Compliant with IEC-60664-1. Compliant with IEC-60068-1. Electrical output signal characteristics: with a load capacitance of 15 pF and load resistance of 50 kΩ, minimum output high voltage is VCC − 0.4 V, maximum output low voltage is 0.4 V. Typical rise time is 3 ns, typical fall time is 3 ns. The device integrates a power-on reset function in both the transmitter and receiver, which activates when voltage falls below VPOR_DEACT. Once voltage reaches VPOR_DEACT, power-on reset remains active for duration tPOR-DEACT_DEL. During power-down, power-on reset is initiated at voltage VPOR_ACT. During power-on reset activation, the output signal is low. The VPOR_DEACT and VPOR_ACT parameters apply to both the transmitter and receiver; the tPOR-DEACT_DEL parameter applies to the receiver only. Typical transmitter delay time is approximately 10 μs. Under operating conditions of ambient temperature −40°C to +85°C and signal rate DC to 50 MBd, link performance parameters are as follows: maximum signal rate is 50 MBd. Typical propagation delay time is 30 ns, maximum is 50 ns. Typical propagation delay time variation is 2 ns. Typical pulse width distortion is 1 ns. Maximum output enable to output valid time is 50 ns. Maximum output enable to output high-impedance time is 50 ns. Minimum common-mode transient immunity is 50 kV/μs. These parameters are contingent on electrical input characteristics satisfying: no pulse width distortion at an input level of 1.5 V, and a voltage slew rate less than 1 V/ns between 1 V and 2 V. Propagation delay time is defined as the time from the 1.5 V point on the rising edge of the data input to the 50% level point on the rising edge of the data output. Propagation delay time variation between multiple devices is measured under identical input conditions and identical external signal delays. Pulse width distortion depends on supply voltage and signal rate.
