Introduction

This is a new IIC LCD adapter board that supports the Gadgeteer interface (IDC10), allowing Gadgeteer users to use the LCD160X. The IIC LCD adapter board is a small PCB that can be soldered to the back of an LCD to enable control via the I2C bus. This I2C adapter board is based on the PCA8574. Using this product reduces pin count (I2C requires only 2 pins) while still providing easy interfacing with the LCD. It is compatible with a wide range of LCDs, such as the LCD1601, LCD1602, LCD1604, and LCD2004. For advanced users, the adapter board can also be used for general-purpose I/O expansion. These devices consist of an 8-bit quasi-bidirectional port and an I2C bus interface.
