Introduction

Excelitas 1100 Series Lite-Pac trigger modules contain the components required to operate Excelitas pulsed xenon flashlamps. The module incorporates a socket interface and high-voltage components necessary for short-arc xenon flashlamp operation, and is designed to operate with any 1100 Series power supply. The Lite-Pac also includes an EMI suppression circuit to reduce radiated and conducted noise associated with high peak discharge currents. Epoxy encapsulation ensures overall operational and environmental stability as well as high-voltage control. The power supply and Lite-Pac trigger module are connected via a shielded cable. The 1100 Series Lite-Pac trigger modules are available in several configurations to accommodate various mounting arrangements. For applications requiring long leads between the Lite-Pac and the power supply, the discharge capacitor is located within the Lite-Pac to ensure maximum energy transfer to the flashlamp. When the discharge capacitor is located within the power supply or external to the Lite-Pac, it is recommended that the Lite-Pac leads be kept as short as possible to minimize lead impedance.
