Introduction

The uVGA-III is a compact and cost-effective VGA graphics engine that integrates a wide range of features, serving as a graphical user interface for target applications and functioning as an interface controller for numerous applications. At the heart of the design is the PICASO processor, driven by a highly optimized virtual core engine known as EVE (Extensible Virtual Engine). An extensive set of hardware and software peripherals is integrated into the design, giving users the freedom to adapt the module for virtually any application. The module combines a display driver capable of outputting multiple resolutions to standard VGA monitors, a microSD card connector, and a set of general-purpose I/O pins including I2C and serial UART communication. Audio support is provided by the PICASO processor, outputting line-level audio signals that can directly drive an external amplifier. The microSD card slot provides users with expandable storage suitable for multimedia file retrieval and data logging applications. The module can be programmed as a master or slave device via the Workshop4 IDE software, or configured as a serial slave for use with a host controller.
