Introduction

PLL2080xx Series - Tape-and-Reel Lenses - are individual microlenses packaged in tape-and-reel format, compatible with automated manufacturing processes on the most popular SMD component placement machines. The PLL2080xx Series is designed to ensure correct positioning, alignment, and bonding of the lens to the LED. No special precautions are required during centering and bonding. The flat base of the lens perfectly matches the corresponding features on the PCB, facilitating proper adhesive setting and sealing. When correctly mounted, the flat base of the lens should contact the top surface of the PCB to achieve proper height alignment. PLL2080xx lenses are secured to the PCB by dispensing a drop of adhesive into one or more PCB recesses where the lens is placed. When correctly mounted, the lens alignment is firmly secured within the PCB recesses, with the flat base of the lens in contact with the top surface of the PCB.
