Introduction
These chip LEDs feature industry-standard package designs for easy handling and use. Nine compact monochromatic packages offer a variety of LED color options. The HSMx-C150 uses an industry-standard 3.2mm × 1.6mm footprint, suitable for general-purpose applications. The HSMx-C170 uses the widely adopted 2.0mm × 1.25mm footprint with a height of 0.8mm. The HSMx-C177 uses the widely adopted 2.0mm × 1.25mm footprint with a height of 0.4mm. The HSMx-C19x series uses an industry-standard 1.6mm × 0.8mm footprint and offers varying heights to meet designer requirements: HSMx-C190 at 0.8mm height, HSMx-C191 at low-profile 0.6mm, and HSMx-C197 at ultra-low-profile 0.4mm. The slim form factor and wide viewing angle make this series an excellent choice for backlighting applications. The HSMx-C110 is a right-angle package with the widely accepted dimensions of 3.2mm × 1.0mm × 1.5mm. The HSMx-C120 is a smaller right-angle package with industry-standard dimensions of 1.6mm × 0.6mm × 1.0mm. The HSMx-C265 is a reverse-mount package measuring 3.4mm × 1.25mm × 1.1mm. These devices are well suited for LCD backlighting and edge-lighting applications. For ease of pick-and-place operation, these chip LEDs are available in tape-and-reel packaging — 4,000 units per reel for HSMx-C120, C170, C177, C190, C191, and C197 packages, and 3,000 units per reel for HSMx-C110, C150, and C265 packages. All packages are compatible with IR reflow soldering processes. Their compact size and wide viewing angle make them the preferred choice for backlighting and front-panel illumination, especially in space-constrained applications.
