Introduction

Thermal infrared emitter with sapphire window and nitrogen fill. The device is a thermally emitting source based on a nichrome filament, housed in a TO-39 package with a soldered sapphire window, ensuring hermetic sealing and long-term stability. The cap with soldered sapphire window is helium leak-tested to a leak rate of less than 10⁻⁸ mbar l/s. The HISbasic series emitters integrate a gold-plated reflector that directs rear radiation toward the front for maximum efficiency. They exhibit minimal drift under constant resistance. Infrasolids infrared emitters feature an extremely low temperature coefficient of resistance, making the hot and cold resistance nearly identical, which simplifies the electrical control of the IR source.
