Introduction

The 3.3V HCMS-39xx series is similar to the 5.0V HCMS-29xx series but operates at a lower voltage. Both series share identical package dimensions and pinouts. The product has been fully characterized and subjected to rigorous reliability testing to ensure high quality. Like the 5.0V platform, this series features a high-performance, easy-to-use dot matrix display driven by on-board CMOS ICs. Each display interfaces directly with a microprocessor, eliminating the need for cumbersome interface components. The serial IC interface enables multi-character message display with a minimum number of data lines. The easy-to-read 5×7 pixel format supports uppercase letters, lowercase letters, katakana, and user-defined characters. These displays can be cascaded in both the x and y directions, making them ideal for high character count display applications.
