Introduction

The 3.3V HCMS-39xx series is similar to the 5.0V HCMS-29xx series but operates at a lower voltage. Both series share identical package dimensions and pin configurations. The product has been fully characterized and subjected to rigorous reliability testing to ensure high quality. This series features a high-performance, easy-to-use dot matrix display driven by an onboard CMOS IC. Each display interfaces directly with a microprocessor, eliminating the need for cumbersome interface components. The serial IC interface enables multi-character message display with a minimal number of data lines. The easy-to-read 5x7 pixel format supports uppercase letters, lowercase letters, katakana, and user-defined characters. These displays can be cascaded in both X and Y directions, making them ideal for high character count display applications.
