Introduction

Adafruit loves to explore unique illuminated objects. This chip-on-board ultra-flexible LED strip with 352 LEDs per meter features side-by-side soldered LEDs diffused with silicone epoxy. It resembles neon lighting, incandescent tubes, or premium electroluminescent wire — without the need for expensive transformers, glass tubes, or inert gases. Unlike pixel LED strips, it delivers a continuous, clean light source; compared to "neon" tubes, it is thinner and more flexible. The strip is extremely flexible and bendable, featuring non-addressable yellow LEDs with a translucent silicone rubber diffuser over the LEDs, encased in a cuttable sealed silicone tube. The silicone construction makes the housing durable and water-resistant — while not guaranteed for submersion or prolonged outdoor exposure, it is suitable for outdoor projects such as wearables, bicycle lighting, or holiday decorations. The strip comes with black and red wires, and begins to illuminate when powered at 9V (bright) to 12V (very bright), drawing a maximum of approximately 800mA for the full strip at 12V. It can be cut to length as needed. Note that this is NOT a "NeoPixel" LED strip — individual LEDs cannot be controlled independently.
