Introduction

Adafruit loves to explore new and unusual light-up items. This 480 LEDs-per-meter COB ultra-flexible white LED strip features side-by-side soldered LEDs diffused with silicone epoxy. It resembles neon, incandescent tubing, or high-quality electroluminescent wire, but without the need for expensive transformers, glass tubes, or inert gases. Unlike pixel LED strips, it offers a continuous, clean light source; compared to "neon" tubing, it is thinner and more flexible. The strip is extremely pliable — a warm white non-addressable LED strip with a translucent silicone rubber diffuser over the LEDs, then encased in a cuttable sealed silicone tube. The silicone housing is robust and water-resistant — not guaranteed for submersion or prolonged outdoor exposure, but suitable for outdoor projects such as wearables, bicycle lighting, or holiday decorations. The strip comes with black and red wires; at 9V (bright) to 12V (very bright), the strip begins to illuminate, with a maximum current draw of approximately 1.8A for the full strip. A 1-meter length is also available, and the strip can be cut to length as needed. Note: this is not a "NeoPixel" LED strip — individual LEDs cannot be controlled independently.
