Introduction

The TDS.31.. series are 10 mm character seven-segment LED numeric displays in a very compact package. The displays are designed for viewing distances of up to 6 meters and are available in two bright colors. The gray package surface and uniformly illuminated colorless segments provide optimum on/off contrast. All displays are binned by luminous intensity, enabling users to assemble display units with uniform appearance. Typical applications include instruments, panel meters, point-of-sale terminals, and household appliances. Due to the design of 10 mm displays, a certain degree of crosstalk between segments is unavoidable. This light leakage becomes more noticeable as the brightness of the activated segments increases. However, higher ambient illuminance or partially transparent cover panels may mitigate this effect. Therefore, it is important to consider this phenomenon during the design phase and verify its acceptability for the specific application and all its operating modes.
