Introduction

Soldering conditions for lamp-type LEDs are described, covering soldering distance, recommended soldering conditions, avoiding stress on leads, prohibition of repositioning after soldering, protecting the epoxy bulb after soldering, avoiding direct soldering to PC boards, minimizing mechanical stress when clamping LEDs if necessary, and cutting the lead frame at room temperature.

Features

Solder no closer than 3mm from the base of the epoxy bulb; soldering beyond the tie bar base is recommended.
Specific soldering conditions are recommended.
Do not apply any stress to the leads, especially during heating.
LEDs must not be repositioned after soldering.
After soldering, protect the epoxy bulb from mechanical shock or vibration until the LED returns to room temperature.
